Effortless Installation FK auxiliary fuel tanks are engineered for straightforward installation using a bolt-on, no-drill design. All required hardware is included, allowing the vehicle to be adventure-ready in approximately 8–10 hours. (Main tank removal is required for siphon pump installation.) Ease of Use The auxiliary fuel tank fills automatically whenever the main tank is refueled through the OEM fuel fill location. Fuel is then transferred to the main tank via an OE-style siphon jet pump, operated by the factory fuel pump while the vehicles engine is running. As fuel transfers from the auxiliary tank, the fuel gauge will remain at the full position until the auxiliary tank is depleted, after which the gauge will resume normal operation. Under certain conditions on some vehicles, this extended lack of gauge movement may trigger a diagnostic trouble code (check engine light). If this occurs, the code can be cleared with any standard scan tool. There are no changes to driving behavior, refueling habits, or operational complexity for the driver.
